NYFW Recap: Fashion, Fun, and Comfortable Footwear in the City

NYFW Recap

There are few things more energizing than a trip to New York City, especially during New York Fashion Week! I was thrilled to receive invites to some incredible NYFW shows and events this year. Even better, the trip doubled as a family and friends reunion, giving me the perfect chance to combine business, pleasure, and (of course) a little shopping.

Walking 20,000 Steps in Style

If you’ve ever been to New York, you know that getting from place to place means racking up steps…often more than you expect! I always plan my outfits from the feet up. This trip, comfort was just as important as style, and I made sure each look could go the distance.

4 Days in NYC

Day 1: Fashion Show Ready

On my first day, I attended the L'agence fashion show and made it a point to support the designer by wearing a L'agence jean jacket, adorned with a statement brooch. Paired with a favorite pair of boots, my outfit ticked all the boxes: on-brand, chic, and most importantly, comfortable for a long day on my feet.

Day 2: Market Finds & Spring Trends

The next day, my shopping partner-in-crime was Tracy from Eleanor and Hobbs in Rocky River. We visited the Nili Lotan showroom to buy for spring. (Sneak peek: barn jackets and brown hues will still be going strong for spring 2026!) My secret weapon was my most beloved pair of glove shoes, truly! I can walk for miles in them.

I also went to an LTK party which was so beautifully done! The DJ was great and I got to hang out with Kara Mendelsohn.

Day 3: Personal Shopping Challenges & Shoe Scores

One of the coolest things about my trip was running into my first fashion assistant ever - Anastasia! She is now in LA styling crazy cool celebrities that I am not even cool enough to know about. We went to breakfast and it was so amazing to be able to catch up in person.

Next up was a day out with Greg, aka my most “challenging” client (but don’t tell him I said that)! We discovered some fantastic wardrobe updates, and I’ll be sharing all the details in an upcoming blog post. I also made a quick stop at the Steve Madden store and snagged some great, budget-friendly shoes for fall.

Day 4: Son Jung Wan Show & Dinner Downtown

My final day included the stunning Son Jung Wan runway show. I played with my style by wearing a new Madewell dress, adding a little “funk” of my own. Once again, my trusty Dolce Vita boots delivered on both comfort and edge, letting me explore the city (and enjoy a wonderful dinner with friends) long after the last model walked the runway.

A Perfect NYC Getaway

Between the dazzling shows, catching up with my son, and reuniting with friends, this NYFW was truly special. The cherry on top? Spectacular, sunny weather and the energy of being surrounded by beautiful things and beautiful people. I left New York feeling inspired, creatively charged, and ready to bring fresh styling inspiration to all my clients!
