Grandma Glor’s Cookie Recipe

These are a family and friend favorite. There’s something about how generous the recipe is with chips and the secret of freezing the dough before baking that makes them so delish. If I ever want to get on someone's good side, this is the treat I bring!

Ingredients:

  • 2 sticks soft butter

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 3 cups flour + 1 heaping teaspoon

  • 3 cups chocolate chips (sometimes I use even more)

  • 1 heaping tsp baking soda

  • Kosher salt

Instructions:

  1. Cream sugars and butter

  2. Add vanilla and eggs

  3. Add baking soda to flour

  4. Slowly add the flour mix to the rest

  5. Add chips by hand

  6. Drop by rounded spoon on an un-greased cookie sheet - I use a ¼ cup ice cream scoop

  7. Sprinkle each with a pinch of kosher salt

  8. Leave room for cookies to spread

  9. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes or so and remove when light brown. Cookies are pretty soft and look slightly undercooked

  10. Leave to cool at least 5 minutes.

* The best way to make these is to prepare the batter and scoop onto a wax paper lined cookie sheet and put it in the freezer for at least 2 hours (or more). Once frozen store in a ziplock bag and bake them whenever you want fresh cookies!
